Mar 31, 2015. #1. Black screen and can't enter safe mode. I've been searching and searching. You can turn it on and off. No video no sound. No hard drive light when you turn it on, but the fan kicks on. You can put a disk in and eject it. Took the hard drive out and put another one still does the same thing.
Turn off your PlayStation 4 safely by holding the power button or using the menu options. Unplug your power cord from the back of your PlayStation 4. Unplug your power cord from the wall outlet 1. Verify the PS4 USB port is actually working. If the PS button on your controller isn't working, first make sure that the USB connector is properly inserts inside the USB port and in a good contact. There's a chance it may not be completely inserted or jammed so try using something like a bobby pin to push it into place (be careful!).To get into safe mode take out the drive and power on th ps3. Hold the button til it beeps 1 then 2 times the letgo when it asks for you to hit the ps button do it and your in safe mode.
Press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps. Release the button after the second beep. Connect your Dual Sense controller using the USB cable. Press the PS button on the controller. If the screen shows up, try restarting your PS5 again to see if the screen shows up now in normal operation mode.
As expected when it started again I had the file system corrupted message but this time, PS3 could not repair and notified me formatting is my only option. Turned to safe mode, tried to restore the file system from there, and it is just stuck on "Preparing" for ever.
